As the school closure period continues more home learning resources have been designed and are now being made available. One such resource that you may have seen advertised is the BBC Bitesize website. The BBC Bitesize website will run daily Maths and English Lessons together with a number of lessons from other subject areas. The White Rose maths lessons that we currently ask children to do will not be available after next week as they are now going to be incorporated into the BBC website.
Therefore as from this week, daily Maths and English lessons should be completed from the BBC Bitesize website rather than the previously advised White Rose Maths or English Sentence Stackers.
To access BBC Bitesize:
Go to the BBC Bitesize website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons
Click on the appropriate Year group
Complete the Maths and English lessons for the appropriate date. The lessons usually have a video clip to watch, provide you with instructions to follow, show examples and then give you some activities to complete.
In addition to these daily lessons, the TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed activities continue to be set.
Homes without suitable online access, who have a TV and TV license, are able to access the Bitesize Daily programmes via iPlayer on the Red Button. This can be done by navigating to any BBC channel and clicking on the Red Button in the top left hand corner of the TV screen. The channel can also be accessed via Freeview channel 601, Freesat channel 981, Sky channel 980 and Virgin Media channel 991
